Video Intro music : Processed clip of Carey's original demo
Published March 14, 2014. Notes from the Facebook post on Theme Music...

"Since joining Theme Music last year, I’ve only played in collaborations. The main attraction for me on Theme Music was that there are tons of musicians to play with, so why would I ever record any song alone ever again?!? This is that rare exception. The only other songs that I’ve posted where I am the sole musician were all dumpster dives from years ago. This song was special to me, and I didn’t want to share it. That being said, it’s a lot more difficult coming up with different approaches to different instruments when you’re writing and playing all the parts yourself. This song is also my first time (to my recollection) that I’ve ever written and played an original guitar solo. I’ve played riffs before, but I’ve never had to write a detailed solo, and my God did that take forever! The first stab at a solo was embarrassingly bad. Sounded like some of those Beatles outtakes from their first few solo sessions before George mastered the lead parts. I was tempted to just post the original lead, but I knew I could do better, so sat down and looped the lead section and played it over and over and over again until I came up with something worthy of my first real lead. Another first… this is the first song that I’ve played keyboards on, and more than just accent parts or single notes. I don’t know if the song “needed” it, but better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Lastly, this is the first time that I’ve covered an original song by another themester. Considered it a few times, but I never felt like I had anything to add. My only complaint is that I’m not a drummer so I had to settle for a simple loop, as generating different drum parts for different parts of the song is still beyond me at the moment. I tried for a hour making a cool drum pattern with Garageband, EZ Drummer, Superior drummer and even Loop Drummer in Amplitube, but I never figured out how to do it. So, if there’s any drummers out there that want to hijack this song and add REAL drums, contact me and I’ll give you a mixdown without drums! And lastly, thank you so much to Carey for writing this song and putting it out there for us to enjoy. I hope you enjoy it! Sorry that I took some liberties with the lyrics for the last chorus, but there’s NO WAY I could make your lyrics work for the last verse, and I didn’t want to listen to your take too much or it would influence my playing and singing too much. As for what I’m playing, there’s 4 electric guitar tracks, 2 acoustic guitar tracks, 2 electric guitar lead tracks, a bass track, a tambourine track, 2 lead vocal tracks, 3 backing vocal tracks, 2 violin tracks and 1 smooth clav track. Oh yeah, and there’s a drum loop that I added."
