Of all the songs I've done this week, this is the most recognizable. It started off as a soundtrack song on Lethal Weapon 2, but eventually made its way to a couple greatest hits compilations. It was also the launch point for the Travelling Wilbury's. Joining me on this collab is Bobby Phillipps on slide guitar, Scott Sutherland on acoustic and electric guitars, as well as backing vocals, Gary Maher on organ and synth and James Goodfellow on drums. I played bass, played muted electric guitar as well as lead and backing vocals. I also mixed and put together video. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah, everyone!
lyrics
I can see by your grin
That you're trembling within
It's all over town, cheer down
And the smile on your face
Is sometimes out of place
Don't mind, no frowns, cheer down.
If your hair should fall
If your shares should crash
You'll get by even without getting a rash
There's no tears to be shed
I'm gonna love you instead
I want you around, cheer down.
When your teeth drop out
You'll get by even without taking a bite
If your dog should be dead
I'm gonna love you instead
The world loves a clown, cheer down.
I want you around, cheer down
